Yes, people are stalking you on LinkedIn. Make sure your profile makes them want to connect.
Lest anyone think otherwise, I am not above using LinkedIn to check out someone's profile to see what they are up to, even if I haven't spoken to them in 30 years. (Totally true story, BTW.)
In fact, if I didn't meet you ahead of time either IRL or in the comments, I ALWAYS check out your profile before I accept you as a connection.
No exceptions. Ever.
Better yet, I also set my settings so that they don't know I did. (At least that's how it's supposed to work.)
